We can't let go and move forward until all the next generation have access to a fit for purpose NEXT Generation Internet access at home and at school.
We can do better, with a bottom up approach, forget the telcos and let the pioneers loose and let others build the fibre networks we need.
Technology in this country (digital britain) is being left behind in the global digital revolution while the incumbent ties everyone to phone lines. People with access to the internet will push the margins, but the third of the country still on dial up are left out. Schools won't engage because all their students can't access it at home. Our kids won't come home in the holidays because they can't carry on their research on sub half meg speeds and no upload. Unless you live next to an exchange with good wires you can't get online.
All this really matters. I do agree with everything you say... The better answers are available. The internet gives everyone a voice.
